We spent some 33,000 Euros on finishing touches for the boat.  Our intent, which we believe worked quite well, was to have professionals do some of the work that we knew we had insufficient skill to do to the same level of finish.  These services were in the area of cabinetry, flooring, tiles, and upholstery.  We probably could have done the flooring quite well, but the price was right so we let the flooring company do the lot.

We had contracted to have an Iroco wheelhouse put in as part of the sail-away package.  We didn't want to mix woods to any great extent so we stuck with Iroco for  panelling, the floor, doors, window frames, stairs, trim, and  beams for the ceiling.  The only area in which we used panelling extensively was the wheelhouse, which is well lit and so doesn't give a dark impression.  Iroco is a good wood for this as even when applied in large doses it still looks light and fresh compared to the more expensive mahogany.

All of the skilled trades people that worked on the boat were marvelous.  Good folks to work with and a great end result.  We think the pictures of their work speak for the success of our finishing program.

Cost Summary
We had a tiled splashguard built around the hob and behind the sink, which is both attractive and functional.
We have a reasonable sized wheelhouse so we had a bench seat built in with a small dining table.
The Iroco panelling fo the wheelhouse extends through this hallway to the aft cabin.
The finished result was a coordinated use of material and colours with Iroco trim, window surrounds, beams, and dividers and standard Iroco flooring.
